Doss became the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honour without firing a single bullet. But the road to this honour was a tough one for the hero. He was not accepted by his fellow soldiers because of his strong beliefs and many attempts were made to discharge Doss. But he remained stubborn to stay and loyal despite the trauma he was put through. Desmond Doss saved 75 lives at Hacksaw Ridge during the Battle of Okinawa. Mel Gibson has definitely managed to make something very special and indeed very memorable with Hacksaw Ridge. The story itself is so unique and remarkable that combined with the tremendous acting, directing, script, editing and cinematography, a masterpiece is created. The emotional force of the story makes Hacksaw Ridge such a fascinating watch. Both Desmond Doss’s experience in training and actual time in war show inspiring levels of perseverance.  Andrew Garfield’s presentation was simply eye-watering. Hacksaw Ridge, pays a beautiful tribute to a hero. The film conveys a message. It tells us to never let go of who we are, to persevere and to be courageous like the phenomenal Desmond Doss.
